(Video of Sara mowing the field with the Bobcat ZT7000)
Zero Turns – Yes, You Absolutely Need One
We researched a number of zero turns and settled on the Bobcat ZT7000. It is awesome and will get the job done quickly.
We primarily use it for our cleared 20 acres and the half-mile road from the gate to the ranch house. It does great and is easy to operate. We will expand once the thinning is completed to maintain the lanes.
The video is our middle daughter Sara doing her thing. Does it surprise me she jumped on the zero turn and became a pro so quickly? No — because she gets to ride around and listen to music. But respect — she turns that field into a nicely mowed yard.
Before you leave a comment, we are keeping the yaupons at bay currently, but I am a firm believer in mowing fields at a maximum of four inches so you are not killing the grass and plants underneath.
The only thing we have run into is belts, but anyone out here mowing fields with sticks and branches knows this reality. Promise we have picked up sticks and branches for months — it is a life project out here I think. Here is video of her putting in the work - https://cdn.shopify.com/videos/c/o/v/0f062037814d40259fb05d991e9e50a8.mov
