We Bought a Tractor

Our tractor — or “beast” as we’re calling it — was delivered on June 19, 2026. We finally acquired the tractor we’d been missing.

We didn’t take the decision lightly. We visited multiple dealerships, test drove several models, watched a ton of YouTube videos, researched online, and even got input from Grok (our ranch sidekick). We’ll post more later about setting up the ranch LLC, ag exemptions, taxes, and all the other things you learn along the way.

Yep, we even checked out the green paint place. In the end we settled on the Mahindra 6075 — 71 horsepower with simple, straightforward operation. We also added the Path Slayer, grapple, pallet forks, front-end loader, disc, and more because we have a lot of work to do.

For the record: JD was great, along with the other brands we looked at. There are plenty of “which tractor to buy” videos out there — do your research. No judgment from us. Tractor Mike on YouTube says it best: no matter what tractor you buy, you’ll eventually want a bigger one. Accurate statement… but we love ours.
